The god who is worshiped the most by the world and is also the god that people come to ask for fortune the most is the god of wealth. This god has the shape of a fat old man, with a cheerful face, a wide smile, a fan in his right hand, and a gold bag in his left hand.
The god lives in heaven and is said to be equal to Thần bếp - the god of kitchen, Nam Tao - the God of Birth, and Phuc – the god of luck, Loc – the god of prosperity. Legend has it that at the beginning of each lunar year, the gods will come down from heaven to roam the ground and on the fifth day of the first lunar month so people will bring the image of the god of wealth to paste on the door, place roosters and carp in front of the door with the hope that the god of wealth will enter the house. When the god of wealth enters someone's house, their family will have a prosperous next year.
