62. Yet Kieu

Once upon a time, in Ha-bi village lived a man named Yet Kieu who worked as a fisher.
One night, while he was strolling along the seaside he saw two large buffaloes fighting on the beach. He sprinted to poke them apart. Buffalos were beaten painful they ran toward to the sea then disappeared. “Those creatures aren’t normal”, he thought then he turned back where buffaloes had been fighting and picked up some fur they had left. He gazed them then suddenly swallowed them.
From that he had the strength that nobody could fight against. Especially, he could stay in the water longer than any people in the world. He spent six or seven days fishing whenever he dived in water.
That moment, their enemies had an invasion. A hundred ships approached and covered seaside of Van
ninh. They caught all fishing boats and fired them. They robbed assets and took lives from people living around the beach. Warships following king of the country had been were sunk. Therefore, the king was very worry he had a notification that anybody who could frighten the enemies would get award.
Yet Kieu found the way to meet the king. He said: “Although I am a lowly I am willing to do this thing making them to be food for fish.”
“How many people and ship do you want?”, said the king.
“Only need myself.”, said Yet Kieu.
The king was pleasant and gave him the navy admiral position to lead soldiers, in case he needed them.
He and soldiers marched toward Van ninh. As they arrived he ordered soldiers to camp and asked few soldiers to buy a chisel and hammer. As all things he needed were taken to he asked soldiers to stay there then he went toward the sea alone and dived. He swam toward the ships which belonged to enemies and holed them. Very fast ships were sunk. Twenty ships were trunk in a day. The general of enemies was panic he immediately forced greatest diver to dive and find out what was going on. It took long time for divers to find out him who was hoding a ship but the divers were not his same level rivals. He kept them into the water and it was short time for them to be drowning. The general felt panic more.  At last, he used a binocular to see through water and find out a person who walked in bottom of sea as walking on ground. Then they let him busy in holing a ship dropped an iron- fishing net to catch him. Because of that they had him alive. They tied him and started questioning.
“How many people who can stay in water as you?”, said the general.
“Except people who can stay in the water more than ten day those are plenty of people that one hundreds of this ships also can not carry. Now some of them are standing on beach, some of them are diving in the water, continuing find their chance to hole. ”, he snapped between plenty of enemies surrounding.
They frightened him.
“If you want to keep your life you have to lead us to their places”, said the general.
“I will, but now you had to untied me.”, he replied
They all believed him then some of them came with him down boats taking iron-fishing nets. They rowed toward middle sea to find. He waited them paying very little attention he jumped down into water immediately and disappeared. Though the enemies had no sight to discover what he had said was true the enemies turned his way back their country. They were frightened by his words and would have never come back again.
The king was very happy and gave him a position, lord of an area. After he died people had built a temple in Van ninh and some temple at other place along the seaside to show their gratitude.
